Program Outline
-The Spokane County Conservation District's Water Quality Monitoring Volunteer Program began its first steps in the spring of 2004. A committe of volunteers was formed
to define a sampling strategy for the watersheds within Spokane County.
-Our purpose is to involve resdents in caring for watersheds by monitoring local streams, providing credible and useful data that can help guide management decisions, and SCCD Water Quality Volunteers are people who want to be actively involved in caring for their local watersheds.
- As a volunteer, your primary job is to perform monthly monitoring at established sites on a stream or lake. Some volunteers mat choose to perform office work, like data entry and compilation in support of this program.
