Program Outline
-The Spokane County Conservation District and West Valley City School have teamed up to volunteer their services to learn more about the health of the Spokane River as it courses it's way through our neighborhood. We all love the river, but we also know it's not as clean as it should, or could be. Our goal is to keep an eye on polluters and possible sources of pollution.
-Our purpose is to care for our watershed by monitoring the Spokane River, providing credible and useful data that can help guide management decisions, and SCCD Water Quality Volunteers from West Valley City School are people who want to be actively involved in caring for their local watersheds.
- As a volunteer, our primary job is to perform monthly monitoring at established sites on the Spokane River throughout the Peaceful Valley gorge.
